Beauty Basics

Back on this sunny little island and it seems as if I forgot about the sultry weather here. Living in Singapore for twenty years and I still can't seem to get used to it. So here I am going to share with you the products that have served me well! And they will too help you and your make-up get through the heat from this eternal lurid sun in Singapore, as well as for those who are in countries experiencing change from spring to summer!

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

I think most might know that I am obsessed with matte. Make up is no different. And this basic eyeshadow palette is everlastingly universal and practical. This is smaller than the famous Naked Palettes 1, 2 and 3 but it's more affordable and definitely much more worth the buy!

Revlon Colour Stay Concealer

This one I have been continuously for a full year now, and I do think it helps to withhold sweat quite well. Personally I prefer liquid concealers, because I feel that cream or stick concealers can mount up to look really cakey most of the time. But take my advice to use make up sponge wedges to blend liquid concealers! (You can buy them in bundles at drug stores at an affordable price) It sits on your skin better.

Mac Lipstick — Midimauve

This colour 'Midimauve' has got quite a subtle but exotic shade for a nude colour. I feel like it has a bit more vibrance than the average nude lipstick and seems to go with any look or outfit from my wardrobe. I mostly use Revlon lipsticks, but this one feels special.

Kate Mineral Loose Foundation

My ultimate trick to a less greasy looking face! Kate Cosmetic's loose powder is MAGIC! You have to try them to believe me. The only problem is that they only offer this product in two skin tones.. And they are fairly similar. I would think that it's because they are a Japanese brand and Japanese females relatively have similar fair looking skins. You can find this at Watsons in Singapore!

Eyelash Extensions at Graceous Salon
(Price varies)

My final beauty must have! And this for me is a REAL must have. The time I take for my make up routines have shortened so much with eyelash extensions. Two things: It's great because: (1) I never have to put mascara (2) Or take time to curl my lashes anymore! And surprisingly, they look so natural.

The salon I go to in Singapore is Graceous Eyelash Extension and Nail. A very kind and lovely Japanese couple, Tomoki-san and Nao-san, runs the salon. I've been going to their salon since last year and have had my eyelashes done for about 5-6 sessions already. So not to worry, I have had no problems like swollen eyes or pain anywhere! Truthfully speaking, Nao-san is very professional. Though there are possibilities of allergic reactions to the eyelash glue or other products they are using but let's be fair; you'll never know until you try.

Graceous Salon is located at:
